The Black Belt Institute was founded in 1980 by Alex Atkinson. Serving as both a family focused and competitive school, the BBI has graduated hundreds of black belts and fostered decades of national, international and world champions in both karate and kickboxing.  Imagine Cobra Kai with Mr. Miyagi values.  The physical, mental and spiritual journey forged through the process of attaining a black belt has contributed to some of our graduates in their journeys to become some of the most powerful and successful presidents and CEOs of some of the most recognizable companies nationwide.  While others have gone even further with their physical ambitions to become WWE superstars and UFC fighters. From its kyu belt students all the way up to its black belt graduates; the BBI is proud of all of the students who have walked through the dojo doors over the years.   Not only for the physical transformations it has made on their lives, but the holistic impact martial arts training has had on them as well.
